Rhythm of Life...it's beat pulls us forward!

Life is uncharted territory.
It reveals its story one moment at a time.
Leo Buscalgia

There is a rhythm of life,
We move and work and grow
seasons change
emotions rise and fall
and
all the while
time moves forward and moves us with it.

We are conceived,
birthed from a watery womb,
nurtured,
sprout,
push forward,
learn,
laugh,
love if we are lucky.

The sun rises from behind the clouds each morning
inviting the day to begin
and
so it does
morning, noon, evening
and
dusk arrives
saying goodbye to the light
and
inviting the darkness to slow things down a bit
The moon teases us with occasional glimmers
fingernail like sometimes
and
full mooning us at times.

We arise,
we move forward,
eat and work and go and do,
we sit,
wipe away the dust from the days work
and
lie our weary head down as the sun closes her eyes.

It all continues
the slow steady beat of life,
birth to grave and all the stuff in between.
Life,
slow steady beat,
inviting us to dance and laugh and sing and learn,
we move forward,
our bodies age,
and
before we know it.

Our newborn faces have grown wrinkled and old,
our new sprouts of hair that grew into our thick mane
begins to thin,
baldness begins to show,
bones age,
eyes get bad,
knees hurt,
teeth space out.
and
the beat goes on
steady as it may
pulling life forward
a steady beating rhythm and rhyme
and
time turns
and
life
...
life happens.

May our rhythm allow all of us
to slow down
listen
hear the beat
and
enjoy the music
as our life's move forward into the future.

Happy Friday evening
hugs and blessings

I'm reading a book by Ann Voskamp that is going to find its way into my blog. I haven't highlighted b/c I'm reading while I am riding a stationary bike, but she has so many great thoughts on which to chew.

Today: "Life is not an emergency. Life is eucharisteo....That in Christ, urgent means slow. That in Christ, the most urgent necessitates a slow an steady reverence."

I'm not preaching this Sunday!!! Hooray!!!

Sometimes I wonder about my pure joy of not having to lead worship. : )
