Don't be like all the others....listen to yourself!

We listen to everyone else...

what they say...

what they believe to be the most important thing...

their thing...

not ours.

Inside of us...

is

a voice

that calls

speaks

tells us our truth.

If we are not careful

once we get out of kindergarten

move up through the grades

someone or somethings voice

begins to override

that inner whisper

telling us

"who we are"

"what we are to do"

"where we are to go"

I've been pretty lucky in life

my inner whisper

is

loud and crazy and straight forward

she whispered to me

yelled at me

stroked my ego

and

scolded me when I didn't listen.

I am learning

to trust her wisdom.

She's pretty savvy I've discovered.

and when I intuitively trust her

she never lies but always tells me the truth

Over time

she has helped me survive,

taught me to love,

opened my heart strings to the pain of the world

and

held my dreams just one step in front of me and

teased me enough to reach for them.

I don't know how

or

when it happens...

it does happen to everyone I think

when we meet that someone

who we believe to be older, wiser, smarter, cuter, funnier,

than

we believe we are...

and

so

we hush up that whisper

tell it to shut up....

go away

ask it to be silent

and

we

follow the other

change who we are

to fit their voice.

Don't just stand around

dressing and looking like everyone else.

get off somewhere quiet,

silence your mind

hear the beat of your own heart

and

suddenly

in the stillness of time

if you listen

really listen

and

invite

it

to come out

He or She will begin to speak

tell us our truth

whisper dreams and offer gifts

and

suddenly

our color

will

burst forward

and

we won't look or sound like all the rest....

We will become me.....

Take a moment today

and

Listen...

you might be surprised who you might hear speaking to you.

May today

bring us all closer

to being

all

we can be

filled with

love, hope and faith

that

we can be more than we ever imagined by just being our self.
