Cha... Cha..... Changes....
I am changing, tryin' every way I can
I am changing, I'll be better than I am
I'm trying-to find a way to understand....
I am changing, I'll be better than I am
I'm trying-to find a way to understand....
lyrics from I am changing from the movie Dream Girls
I've been watching a couple of caterpillars develop in my garden. They started out very tiny with their tinges of yellow, black and white. I don't know what kind they are but I stop and look at them every day. I've accidentally knocked a few of them off their leaves because I was shifting it around tying to see more of their details. They are changing, growing, moving, stretching at such a rapid pace one can see their drastic differences every day. They are eating the vine/weed growing in my flower bed that I haven't had the heart to uproot.
As I've watched them, I've thought about what we humans might look like if we were to have a snapshot of us taken every day at the same time. I usually take my time to watch them every afternoon when I get home from the gym.
How interesting if I could view myself in the same manner and see the changes that occur as I grow and am impacted and influenced by life experiences.
Time flies by us quickly...often more quickly than we realize.
When we are young, we spend all our energy trying to grow up,
trying to break free from the protective cocoon wrapped around us.
As we unwind and crawl out, our colors are brilliant.
We eat and breath and play and learn
and
somehow
we change,
grow into more than we thought we might be,
evolve
transform
and
reform.
Tiny little Caterpillar
reminding me
that
life is always in constant motion,
moving into tomorrow until one day,
without even realizing it,
our wings have formed
and
we spread them out and dry them in the sun,
flap them about,
maybe even flaunt them...
saying to the world,
"look at me...see what I can do..."
Life travels on,
the aging process continues,
our beauty changes
and
our minds capture more and more.
Always...
in constant motion
always changing
in ways
I might not even notice or have the words to articulate.
So on this Monday evening,
as a small Caterpillar reminds me of the
sacredness and beauty of life.
We are all changing...
moving forward on our aging journey
becoming better than we are!
May your wings unfold
and
may each of us
shout to the world,
I am changing...
look what I can do now!!!
Happy Monday and Hugs...

What a wonderfully creative post and so Wow! Enlightened woman ~ thanks for sharing ^_^
I agree, I think I am getting better with age. Who wants to be 20 again?
I think the turning point is being able to live positively and handle lifes challenges as lessons instead of traumatic instances. Great reflective post Ms. Pam.
Oh and youre right about smelling better not hiking. Hiking is not a fresh scent activity by any means. (referring to my blog for others who are reading this comment and getting confused).
I am so glad I can still keep up with you on your blog. :) Reading your posts always put a smile on my face.
