a good imagination, creative energy and a pile of junk
"To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk."
Thomas Edison
We all have it, don't we?
those drawers for our junk,
pieces of things "once was"
waiting for a new genesis to begin.
At times,
we ourselves are like that,
pieces of our past fill our psyche,
we rumble through the old hurts,
dreams unlived,
broken heart pieces,
searching for a way to begin again.
We stare at what we have.
Look at the fragments of days gone by,
look at shards of broken splinters,
and
dig our way into the color of happiness,
rainbow hues that swirl through the junk
coloring our world
and
making our life
worth the time.
Every once in awhile,
it is fun to peruse the things we call junk,
take them out
one piece at a time,
hold them in our hands
and
lift them toward the light,
where they often look quite different.
Hold them tight, touch them, remember their cause,
and
then
do something!
Begin again,
with
all the pieces and place them where you want.
piece by piece,
color by color,
I promise
if you work at it
something beautiful will
arise
from what
once was considered
"a pile of junk".
Go on
begin again!
Have a great day!
and
Hugs.
The photo was taken in an Appalachian Museum when Big Daddy and I went on our hiking trip.
This was a cigar box converted into a jewelery box
and
covered with pieces of everyday junk.
It is very unusual---and cost a whopping $40.00. I took a picture of it but did not bring it home!
