Under The Shade of Your Love......

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
Louis Armstrong

A few days ago, I spent a Saturday afternoon taking a walk through a local arboretum.  It was a sunny day with a slight breeze that occasionally blew through my hair.
As I walked,
I saw dragonflies darting about,
butterflies spreading their wings moving from flower to flower gathering nectar,
bees buzzed around zooming to and fro,
jumping from flower to flower
in what appeared to be a feeding frenzy amongst the yellow and orange petals.

The rhythm of the walk cleared my head of the weeks junk,
and
the steady pace of my walking and stopping and looking,
began to feel
like a
prayer of sorts.
The heaviness of the world around me,
people filled with pain and grief and sadness,
seemed to disappear for just a few minutes.

Silent uttering of my footsteps on the surface of soil as I walked along the secret pathway,
the smell of sacred incense
created over time
drifted amongst and around
all the things present,
providing a ritualistic anointing of sorts.

I walked, glanced at the sky,
and
finally I came upon a tall grandmother tree located on a hidden side of the pathway.
I stopped for awhile
and
sat under her.

My prayerful silence created a sanctuary of sorts,
and
I sat there
at  her feet
and
waited.

I glanced to the sky,
light fluttered in and through the canopy,
creating shadows of greens over my head,
I wondered who had sat there before and what they experienced
under the canopy of grace.

I leaned back,
pressed my feet to the floor
and
sat....
sat...
under the canopy of a tall green tree.

I sang a song of thanksgiving to the symphony of birds whose voices blended together,
and
watched and I waited
and
then
without rhyme or reason,
for just a short second or two,
I lost myself inside a sacred world,
covered
by
a canopy
of
nothing but  pure,
 unconditional,
LOVE.

Sacred air rejuvenated my tired spirit,
anointed by natures balm.
grace drifted in and among and around
and
I experienced it...Peace that is....

Peace...
It filled my soul
and
I sat for a few minutes longer
as
time stood still
for
I
was covered
by
the HER arms,
shaded
by Her her Love
and
offered the gift of Peace
for
which I am most grateful.

As you begin your weekend...
stand still for just a moment
breath in HOLY breath
for
You too
are covered
by
the Shade of Her Love.

blessings and hugs to all of you on this Friday night!

What a beautiful post! Truly, nature grudges us nothing, and just waits for us to acknowledge her love. She will work wonders, if we only let her.
Thank you for putting up the link with a mention of my blog. I'm very grateful.
Hugs - Anne
