on the move....
Don't settle down and sit in one place. Move around, be nomadic, make each day a new horizon. You are still going to live a long time, Ron, and it would be a shame if you did not take the opportunity to revolutionize your life and move into an entirely new realm of experience.
You are wrong if you think Joy emanates only or principally from human relationships. God has placed it all around us. It is in everything and anything we might experience. We just have to have the courage to turn against our habitual lifestyle and engage in unconventional living.
My point is that you do not need me or anyone else around to bring this new kind of light in your life. It is simply waiting out there for you to grasp it, and all you have to do is reach for it. The only person you are fighting is yourself and your stubbornness to engage in new circumstances.”
― Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild
The world
it moves
it shifts
and
we
us
humans
tiny specks that we are
get tired..
want
to stop...
rest
a bit
...
rejuvenate we call it.
Trouble is
we spend all our time and energy
trying to find
that thing that brings us joy
and
we are so caught up in the midst
of
what we are doing to find
IT
joy that is...
we miss IT..
breathtaking
moments
of incredible
encounter
of the
awesome kind...
that
can
and
will
and
does
fill us
with
joy
deep joy
that just for a moment
fills us up
with hope and inspiration
and energy to
continue along the adventure.
.....
Perhaps
the
real
adventure
does not come
by climbing mountains
though it is fun
and one day I would love
to hike along the Appalachian trail
where adventurer's have gone before
....
I hope to jump from
the plane
and
feel the wind against my face
as the world rushes by
just for a moment
to feel the incredible
surge of energy and adrenaline.
....
I'd love to set my feet upon
all seven continents
or
at least all 50 states
and experience the culture and life of others
....
but
if none
of those
things happen
I leave not the world
with
a feeling of unsettled peace
or
lack of fulfillment
....
My
joy
...some days I've found it...
and
it happens
in tiny slivers
at rare moments
with
steaming coffee
in the midst of
deep conversation with my children
or
strangers
in the touch
of my husbands hand
or in the way
he moves with joy as he cooks....
We humans
we are not stationary creators
we are on a huge adventure
called life...
don't miss it
getting to another place...
breathe in the moment
capture the pictures in your memory bank
allow yourself to enjoy...
Life
it is moving along
it is a great adventure
...
it is
and
will be
...
what we decide to make it!!!
choose wisely
happy rainy Saturday
on this day...
I choose to
go back to bed and it is only 830...
ah...
JOY...
