Ordinary Heros and Sheros......
“[S/Heroes] didn't leap tall buildings or stop bullets with an outstretched hand;
they didn't wear boots and capes.
They bled, and they bruised, and their superpowers were as simple as listening, or loving.
[S/Heroes] were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossibly knotted,
they could untangle someone else's.
In a fragment of a second
it happens....
Change can come on tiptoe
Love is where it starts
It resides, often hides
Deep within our hearts
And just as
Pebbles make a mountain,
Raindrops make a sea,
One day at a time
Change begins with you and me,
Ordinary miracles
Happen all around,
Just by giving and receiving
Comes belonging and believing...
Love is where it starts
It resides, often hides
Deep within our hearts
And just as
Pebbles make a mountain,
Raindrops make a sea,
One day at a time
Change begins with you and me,
Ordinary miracles
Happen all around,
Just by giving and receiving
Comes belonging and believing...
(ordinary miracles, barbra streisand)
....
I watched them
sure they had no intent for me to see
they were just being..
two ordinary older women--both very wise women indeed-
walked toward each other
only having know each other
for a short period
of time
...
and
I watched as they walked.
down the aisle toward
one another
no words spoken
eyes glued to each other
both smiled
and
then with no words being said
they stopped
body to body
arms outreached
stopped and embraced.
no agenda
no reason
just love...
perhaps
that
right there
meeting with no agenda
seeing past "me" in my eyes
touching with no intent other than to love...
perhaps
that
is how we save each other
and
then save the world
...
one smile
one meeting
one
little embrace
at a time
....
for
whatever reason
I was privy
to
a lesson in love
and
it saved me from myself
for
just a moment in time.
Thanks to two
wise women---my sheros--
for modeling how it is done.
Happy Monday...
perhaps
among all the ways
we color our self up
perhaps
we really are more alike than different....
and when we realize it
we can really see.
