How's your human experience been today?

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience;
we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

spiritual beings,
brought together
in
a world
that is said to come from chaos
ordered somehow by a mystical Force unseen with the naked eye,

we walk around
all
bound up,
proud up,
ego'ed up,
eyes closed,
going through the motions
never taking the time
to think
about
the
wonder
or
spiritual invitations
that are placed right
there in front of us,
inviting
us
to
experience
humanity in the fullest sense.

deep thinking for just before bedtime
but
wonder how we'd change our thought process
our view of the world
if we
embraced the fact
that within our
clay like shell
resided a
spiritual being....
what does that mean anyway,
spiritual being
too deep for me to think about
too big to understand, but i like the thought of
a mystical like energy
encased in this sexy hot mama of a body,
.........
I look at the leaf that was in front of me on a recent hike...
colors moving from the green of summer growth into the brilliant
array of oranges, reds and a tinge of yellow...
it is ragged, but even in the midst of it...
there is intense beauty in the details,
pointed edges,
veins running throughout,
wounds ever present....
laying there,
fallen from above
residing now underneath
other things
waiting to be broken down and regenerated into something else.

looking at leaves is spiritual...
but
does it remind me to be human?
hum..
suppose
it reminds me to experience awe and wonder and stop and think a bit...
we humans
we spiritual beings
are
presented gifts everyday
that
allow us to experience
the human experience to the fullest...
love, pain, sadness,
overwhelming joy,
smiles, tears, empathy,
in a sense
the leaf is just a reminder of our own process of living...

every day
little things
in
front of us
allow us
to experience
our humanity
wholey,

tomorrow...
i hope...
I will be more human in this spiritual shell...
i hope to notice
the rain on the roof,
the cool crisp nip in the air,
the gritty smell of dry leaves as they crunch under my feet....
maybe tomorrow...

I will experience the world
in
the fullest sense of being human....

may we all
experience
the world

and
allow it to change
us ever so gently...

happy Sunday..
hugs and blessings to you...

Love the de Chardin quote and your thoughts, hot sexy mama. :) Love the new blog look, too - slick! Thanks for all your words/posts. Oh - have you read "An Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor? You two have a lot in common!

Love and appreciate this thought, this challenge. I appreciate it as I begin to transition into the busiest time of the year within the church and within my family. May I allow these moments to be experienced and may I allow them to help me grow...ever so gently.

Many Blessings ~ Sandi

I think of that quote many times a day. It's one of my favorites. Love the post. Here's to viewing life through spiritual eyes always.
