"Normal is as Normal does....."

nor·mal [nawr-muh
l]
–adjective
2. serving to establish a standard.
3. Psychology .
a. approximately average in any psychological trait, as intelligence, personality, or emotional adjustment.
b. free from any mental disorder; sane.
NORMAL...
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
I've wondered what it might look like all my life.
Joe Ancis said, "The only normal people are the ones you don't know very well.”
I've always known that I wasn't what others considered...
"normal"
or
at least that was my perception.
I've seen how your eyebrows raise
when I ask one of my honest questions
or
offer up a piece of my writing that is a bit edgy
or
give a sermon using real life narrative.
Normal...
I don't know what that is..
don't think I'm even interested in discovering it anymore....
not sure it even exists!
An unknown source once said...
"Everyone in this world is different, but the people who are truly brave enough to show their differences are considered embarassing or not normal. Maybe, the 'normal' people in this world are just scared to show who they really are"
I think that person who said this was right...
the
one's who
look normal
are the scared ones!!!!!
I'm not scared..that's for damn sure!!!
This picture was taken on the wall of a store called
"Big Mike's"
during the off-color family vacation from hell...
First who in the world would spend $29.00 for
a pair of big woman bloomers
that say..
"why be normal"
Second,
why does Big Mike
think someone would want to see them displayed on the wall
or think that someone was in need of such a pair.
I wanted to ask the clerk if she had ever sold a pair,
but
she was already looking at me weird because i was running around the store taking pictures of random things.
All I can say is...
It will take a really big girl to fill these big girl panties.....
REMEMBER:
NORMAL IS AS NORMAL DOES...
GO AHEAD..
DON'T LET FEAR HOLD YOU BACK IN THE
NORMAL CATEGORY...
DON'T BE EMBARRASSED..
Let loose!!!
WHY BE NORMAL?
BE YOURSELF!!!!
HAPPY SATURDAY
HUGS AND BLESSINGS

I have always wanted to be normal, and then one day when I seemed to be normal I realized it wasn't as much fun as I thought it was!! Lol!! Great post!
I'm laughing here because I remember that I wrote something called "does everything have to be awesome?" LOL!!! But you know what? It's about not wanting to fit into a given mould all the time. The fight against any sort of mould that someone deems essential. So yes, why be normal? And try so hard to be anything that takes away from our real selves. Love the post and the panties are hilarious! What a pair!!
The big drawers are most certainly eye catching (and funny!)
Hi Pam - this is such a great post. Its hard sometimes to have the confidence to act outside of the 'norm' and not apologize for it. It is much easier for me to pull off my 'own thing' at 40, but in my early 30's and 20's? Forget about it.
