Thank God it is Friday......

The view off my back deck where I sit and think......don't be thinking
I live out in the country....cause you'd be wrong.  I'm just fortunate enough
to have trees and a deck on the second floor....it's really why we bought our current home...
the trees.....one day I'll tell you why we'll never do it again.....(ice storm clean-up)

It's Friday night, the sun is heading down for a nap.
The birds are whistling their good nights to each other and
the little five and six year old girls who live behind me have
friends over...there is laughing and singing and jumping
all mixed in with the goodnight song of my backyard.
Today was a good day, but it has been a long week
and I'm tired...
dead dog tired....
I've already eaten  have now crawled into bed..
I'm sure I'll be long asleep by the time "big daddy" and my son come home..
even my fingers feel tired.....
so I won't bore you with more details of
how tired dead dog is....
let's just say I'll be asleep very shortly.

I didn't want to go to bed without summing up
a bit of the week...
The dad and little girl at the bus stop...
well i almost stopped the other morning to tell the dad
how much it meant to see them in the morning...but I chickened out....
the day before it had been raining...
and I wondered how dad would react in all that rain...
as soon as the bus arrived,
dad was out of the van with his coat on his head like a cat...
lickity split,
he swooped her up and covered her in his jacket and ran to the bus....
I was sure that he'd forget the
turning and waving....since it was storming..
but
much to my surprise..
his morning ritual was not swayed...
he closed her door,
turned and stood and
waved as he was getting drenched...
now that's real love...
don't see it like that much these days...
so
I went to work feeling all warm and fuzzy...
and wondered how many times I'd chosen to stay
dry when I could have
had another second
to wave someone off in love...
so
thank you Mr. Bus man...guess in a few more days
you'll no longer be part of my morning ritual,
but
 I have enjoyed
sharing your mornings this year....even if you don't know it.

Secondly,
it was a sad day at the "dog hair haven" abode....
I received a frantic phone call from my daughter as I was on my
way home today...
"mom...the baby birds are gone....
I've looked all out back...
under the deck
and their nest is empty....
guess they've flown away..."

I looked in all those places too when I got home..
I had noticed last night how crowed they were getting in there
and how their feathers were beginning to
take the form
of a real robin suit...

so Cletus and "sisters three..."
thank you
for letting us share your start...
fly safe now..
you hear...

so for now..
I'm off to
