As I walked my daughters dog, Cecil (a weenie dog/jack Russel mix who adopted us at the pound), I looked at the grass starting to poke their spikes outside the dry leaves.  As Cecil began to tire, I had more of an opportunity to look at the scenery.  At one point in our walk, I glanced down and scattered on the ground I noticed all this untapped potential---acorns scattered across the grass---waiting for the right time and the right conditions to break open, seed out and send their tiny roots deep into the earths soul, embedding their life line deep within the rejuvenated crevices of ancestors long ago.

Some of them never make it to the tall oak.  Some of them get crushed and busted and some of them lie frozen with inactivity forever until the decaying process takes over.  As I walked, I began to think about the power of untapped potential-----the kernel inside a piece of popcorn when heated, water molecules expand giving rise to both a delicious aroma, a cracking pop and a wonderful piece of something to eat. The flow of water can light an entire town when the electrons are captured and funneled.

We too are like the acorns scattered along the ground. 

We are filled with  potentiality lying dormant waiting for the conditions to be just right. 

  Some of us embedded ourselves in the wrong placed, take up the wrong nutrients,

hang with the wrong group of nuts and we never find ourselves in just the right spot,

to crack open our shell and free our self to become our actualized potential.

We each have the good news embedded within us.  The good news requires that we love ourselves enough to do everything we can to unleash our hidden potential.  The world needs our gifts.   So don't just sit around on the couch, lie around on the ground or hang around with a lot of dead beat no good for nothing nuts.

Let's go ahead and unleash that power within us,

 Let's  hold out our offerings to the world, Let's embed our roots in fertile soil and

grow forth our branches to shade the world with goodness.

We all have it in us.......

some of us are just too afraid, too comfortable, too something.....to allow that first crack to happen, 

So why don't you just allow a pinhole of a crack to break you open, cover yourselves in the light and  Send forth your roots deeply into mother earth and watch your unfolding occur. 

Pretty soon....you be spreading out your leaves...changing the world a bit at a time.

  Go ahead...I dare you.  I double dog dare you!
