Hallelujah!

Hallelujah..hallelujah....Hall le lu jah!

It's Friday!

Perhaps, I'm getting old.  I'd hate to admit that to anyone--especially my employer or my children, but by Friday afternoon I am ready to burst into a rendition of the hallelujah chorus come 3:30 pm.  When the clock hits the right time, I get that excited feeling all in my stomach just like I did when I was a kid getting ready to get on that old yellow bus to leave school on Fridays.

As a kid, I used to look forward to having my friends over,

to staying up talking,

to watching TV and eating pizza until the early morning hours.

In college...well in college we all loved the weekend, but since my kids may read this blog--I'll leave it to your imaginations what my Friday nights  may have been like in college.  Let's just say that those days and the early part of my work career---Friday nights were a good party.  I'd appreciate all my friends out there to keep their mouths shut!

These days, I'm an old fuddy duddy.  Today, I went to the gym, gave the kids some money to order their Chinese food, came home, showered and by six o'clock, I was sitting on the couch in my pj's and fluffy house shoes ( and in case your wondering none of my outfit matches).

I fell into bed to watch a movie with my husband and now before I hit the sack,

I thought I'd touch base here.

Friday's are days where I'm beginning my Sabbath,

calm days with no preparations,

I like Fridays and as I age, I'm learning more and more about their importance and about the  importance of doing nothing.   It has taken me a long time, to learn to savor the goodness of a calm, slow evening.

It's raining here and my eyes are heavy.....so for now...

I'm thankful it's Friday!

Kids have their friends over!  Noise getting loud...guess I'll put in my earplugs, turn on the old box fan and pretty soon, I'll be snoozing and snoring.
