Frozen: One Moment in Time
Last thing I remember is the freezing cold
Water reaching up just to swallow me whole
Ice in the rigging and howling wind
Shock to my body as we tumbled in
Then my brothers and the others are lost at sea
I alone am returned to tell thee
Hidden in ice for a century
To walk the world again
Lord have mercy on the frozen man
Water reaching up just to swallow me whole
Ice in the rigging and howling wind
Shock to my body as we tumbled in
Then my brothers and the others are lost at sea
I alone am returned to tell thee
Hidden in ice for a century
To walk the world again
Lord have mercy on the frozen man
lyrics by Paul Simon
It all happened in one fleeting moment
I was living free spirited
happy
and
in a split second,
so quickly my young mind could not comprehend it all.
a familiar stranger stepped in
and
took me on a ride.
The wind hit my face and my hair
flew in the breeze of the speed.
I loved the careless
unexpected way of
skipping through life.
loved my laughter and free spirit.
loved my smile and life.
A bump in the adventure
a mishap of sort,
a wreck unexpected...
touched me
and
suddenly
everything changed
the world shifted
and flipped upside down.
a trust broken
and
a small section of
my tiny beating heart
was torn in half
robbed of innocence and trust
frozen if you will
frozen solid...
on
that
day
one moment in time.
Now I wonder,
years later,
is it
possible
for
a frozen section of my heart
to thaw and beat again???
I just wonder if I dare find out.
blessed Wednesday
and hugs to all of you!
