Once upon a time...taking the first step!
Everybody has a story. I haven't met anyone who doesn't. Our life happens in the midst of the actions,in the words, in our movements, and in our experiences. Daily reflection can reveal findings about who we really are and when one is willing to commit to breaking out of a shell of complacency to discover and uncover all that lies deep and buried---wholeness is acheived.
It is not a smooth easy path but an adventure that is taken one step at a time. It is hard work. It involves getting dirty, it involves climbing up mountains that you think you cannot climb, it involves crossing bridges you think you can't cross....It can painful. It can be confusing. But each volume we write and reflect upon holds great potential for unleashing our authentic self so that we can live fully into our untouched potential.
I once read a quote--some attribute it to Marianne Williamson--others to Nelson Mandala and others will say it was in the movie Coach Carter. I really don't care where it comes from--I just know that it is true.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people don't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others

The quote is a compelling one that seems related to the advice given in Matthew 5:14-16,
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
